INTRODUCTION
The Red Sox lost this game by a score of 6-1 and now move to 0-30 on the season when trailing at any point by three runs or more. This was game one of the series against the blue jays during the week.
PITCHING
Payton Tolle took the mound for the Sox going five innings and allowing three runs all of them earned. Tolle started the game well pitching well with no run support behind him. The fifth inning he gave up two solo shots for the jays to go up three.
The relievers were sort of just ok pitching the other four innings and giving up three runs themselves. Weissert being the star of the pitching side as he was the only pitcher to have a clean outing.
HITTING
Bring me home please. The Sox hd no problem getting on base during this game as they had at least one base runner on base in every but one inning. The problem was that they didn’t bring anyone home. They left 13 runners on base in this game.
Outside of a solo shot from Jarren Duran the Sox did nothing. They have got to improve on hitting with Runners in scoring position and they need to be able to trim down the opposing teams leads.
CONCLUSION
The Red Sox move to 29-41 in what is essentially a lost season for the Sox. They should be sellers at the deadline looking to move pieces to get prospects for their young stars like Anthony and Tolle. Build around them and they could be very good for the future.
