INTRODUCTION

Pillies win by a score of 7-0 against the Marlins in Philiadelphia. This was game one in the series for the two division rivals and the Phillies dominated them shutting down their bats.

PITCHING

The Phillies pitchers all did an excellent job today as they gave up no runs and very little hits in total for the Marlins. Wheeler started the game going six innings of no run ball. With that he also struck out nine batters and only walked three. Zach’s biggest issue on the day was his pitch count he had 97 pitches by the time his day was over. He will need to be more efficient for the Phillies and go deeper into games to save the bullpen arms for the playoff push they look to want to make.

The relievers all did their jobs each going one inning and also giving up no runs and very few base runners

HITTING

The Phillies hitters all did their jobs today as it was a team effort for them to win this game.

One highlight player is Rincones who had his first major league hit a solo shot in the bottom of the second inning. He would end the game with 2 RBIs. Realmuto joined the fun as he blasted a 2 run home run in the bottom of the fifth inning.

CONCLUSION

Overall the Phillies played an excellent team game. They are rallying back from their slow start and improve their record to 39-33 on the year.
