INTRODUCTION
This is a different kind of paper from the previous ones I have written about other teams. While not about why a team won or lost a game the White Sox prove that sometimes mistakes don’t get punished.
WRONG
What went wrong for the White Sox in this game was the starting pitching. Davis Martin only went 3.1 innings but only gave up 2 runs. He gave up 6 hits and 5 walks which are both a lot in just under four innings of pitching. He left the game with 73 pitches and 37 strikes and 36 balls. Which is not good.
He left the game in the fourth with bases loaded and only one out. A terrible scenario and many different ways they can score runs. So what happened?
RIGHT
Well with one out in the fourth and bases loaded Murphy walks in to try and not give up any runs. And you know what he did getting two outs and giving up zero runs. Just some excellent pitching from him to get out of the inning. Getting weak contact that gave up no runs.
Well now you’re out but still down 2 in the fifth inning. Well now your hitters give you the lead. What I call doubles galore just double after double after double. They hit so many doubles in this game to eventually take the lead against their division rival who they are only up 1 game in the division.
CONCLUSION
This paper is to show that sometimes players don’t play well and they leave early after playing poorly. Baseball can feel like the most lonely sport as you play the game it is a series of one on ones between the pitcher and the batters. But baseball is the ultimate team sport one guy plays bad and puts you in a bad spot it is up to everyone else to pick up the pieces.
Baseball is the ultimate team sport in the end and is one of the best sports as well.
