Offense

What didn’t the Yankees do right on offense got started out the gate with a four run first inning. They would not stop there either continuing to pile the runs on throughout the game. They scored in all innings except for two and had runners on in all but one inning. All nine starters for the Yankees had at least two hits first time in franchise history they were able to do that.

They got the starter out of the game in just the third inning after he gave up 7 runs all of them earned. All 15 of the runs the Yankees scored tonight were earned. Ten out of the 11 lineup players they used reached base at least with Caballero being the only one not to reach base in his lone AB.

Pitching

Cam Schlittler did his Cam Schlittler thing pitching 6 innings of one run ball with the lone run coming off of a Bobby Witt jr solo home run. He walked no batters and struck out 6 in his start and only had 77 pitches after the sixth.

Ryan Yarbrough came in relief and pitched 3 innings of clean baseball to close out the game. He had no strikeouts no runs given up and only 2 hits given up in his 3 innings.

Conclusion

All in all the Yankees finally hit well and played excellent baseball throughout the whole game. They improve their record on the season to 33-22 sitting 2.5 games back of the AL east lead.
