Wow what a championship I was on the edge of my seat the whole game. Congrats to Venezuela on their 3-2 victory over the United States last night clinching their first ever WBC title. In my paper on who will win the WBC Venezuela was not on this list as I did not believe in them as much as I did teams like the US and the DR. But Venezuela proved me wrong and ended up winning it all and I could not be happier.

Venezuela’s pitching outside of one hit really was lights out the whole game shutting down this supposed juggernaut of an offense. The United States offense this whole tournament looked just kind of meh. They were not as good as they should have been on paper. But this does not take anything away from Venezuela their pitching was amazing. And their hitting came up clutch when they needed to be unlike the United States’ offense.

Games like this are the main reason I love baseball. Yes you have your favorites the teams that will win it all. But sometimes that isn’t the case, sometimes the teams that just kind of sneak in win it all. No better example than Venezuela, they proved to me that anyone can win and that it is important to never put all your chips on to one team. I am very excited for this baseball season and will be writing about every team at least once this season.
