Tonight Dominican Republic (DR) defeated Korea 10-0 and the big take away from this game is how patient the DR is when they are at the plate. The DR took over the game in the second inning scoring three runs on three hits and two walks. After that Dominicans pitcher Christian Sanchez shut down Korea’s lineup going five innings of scoreless baseball.

The Dominican Republic throughout the game was very patient at the plate taking nearly every first pitch that Korea’s pitchers put out there. They drew lots of walks and made every at bat a battle and very tough on Korea’s arms. After the first four innings the DR was already up by 7-0 and instead of becoming swing happy like some players would they maintained their patience and that is going to be the most dangerous part about this team throughout this tournament.

The Dominican Republic will be the toughest out in this tournament from their hitters their pitchers and even their defense they have very little holes. And the most important part is that they are having some damn good fun out there. They play loose and free no tension no pressure just pure fun. And that is dangerous for every other team out there. They are a very selfless team and play good complementary team baseball.

Austin Wells ended the game in the seventh inning by hitting a three run home run causing them to go up 10-0 and invoke the mercy rule. The DR will play the winner of Canada vs the USA and they will be a tough out for either of those teams that has to play them.
